Batcheller Monkhouse is a growing regional firm of Estate and Lettings Agents, rural Chartered Surveyors and Planning Consultants providing a diverse range of property related services throughout the South of England. We are focused on the bigger picture, and as a result we are a progressive and expansive business.

Our Telecoms Department, based in Tunbridge Wells, is one of the UK’s foremost specialists in the telecommunications industry attracting work from many sources.  We are responsible for advising property owners (not operators) on all matters relating to wired and wireless telecommunication equipment installed on, over or under their property.

Vacancy: Graduate Surveyor/Negotiator (Telecoms)

Location: Tunbridge Wells (Some remote working possible)

Full-time/Part time: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Qualifications: An RICS-accredited degree is required to enable working towards RICS and CAAV qualifications.

Permanent/temporary: Permanent

The Role: Ever fancied working on properties with some of the best views in the UK?

We are recruiting for a Graduate Surveyor/Negotiator to join our expanding Telecoms team responsible for managing land and buildings across the UK on which telecoms apparatus is installed. Our Telecoms Department provides advice to a wide variety of property owners, from London boroughs to remote landed estates across all corners of England and Wales.

This is a client-facing role, where you will typically be handling new lettings, rent reviews and agreement renewals.  One minute you might be talking to a farmer on the South Downs or a Camp Site owner in the Cotswolds, the next you might be (safely) atop an iconic building in London or a development site in Manchester.

Requirements: Candidates should have completed their Batchelors or Masters degree and be working towards their RICS qualification. Although having some telecoms understanding is welcome, it is not a requirement of the job as we will be able to offer training to the correct candidate on all issues relating to some of the more niche areas of legislation relating to the Telecoms Code.

The ideal candidate will:

  • have an appetite to understand Landlord & Tenant legislation;
  • have the desire to help resolve often complex and involved negotiations in property disputes;
  • possess a keen interest in all property classes and client types;
  • have a desire to put forward the client’s position well to reach settlements on a wide variety of transactions;
  • assist in liaising closely with clients, their solicitors and agents;
  • be consistent, professional and organised;
  • have good written communications skills.

Other requirements: Candidates must have the permanent right to work in the U.K. and a full clean driving licence.

Salary/Package: Competitive
