Buyers continue to register in spite of the enforced freeze of the property market due to Covid 19.
Wendy Stirk, Partner at Batcheller Monkhouse reports; “the situation we all find ourselves in is completely unprecedented. Naturally the health of us all is of paramount importance and must come before anything else; however, the state of the property market is pivotal to a huge part of the UK economy.
At Batcheller Monkhouse whilst we continue to work from home, the volume of activity our agency offices are reporting is extremely encouraging. New buyers are registering, fresh vendors wish to discuss potential sales and current transactions are being progressed where all parties are able to do so.
This part of the South East has always had a strong draw for buyers from London and the suburbs. Of course, the price growth of London property and the shorter commute has for many been the principle reason to stay in town.
Following the statement from our Prime Minister on Sunday a proportion of us can return to our places of work. I believe however, the “working from home” ethos and technology enforced upon us will make many people realise that they can move out of London and work efficiently and effectively, without the need for travel. Therefore, if you are thinking of making a move in 2020 and would like to talk to us, please get in touch. We are still here, just remotely for the time being.
Current activity levels indicate a good recovery to the property market and this is corroborated by a recent release from the Nationwide “Strong Market Recovery Likely After Lockdown” please read link below:
