The Batcheller Monkhouse Planning Team working with Taylor Roberts Architects, secured detailed planning consent for a block of 9 apartments with parking and services in Tenterden, Kent. The development site was located within the settlement at Tenterden and adjacent to Homewood School once forming part of the school estate. Planning issues relating to the design, impact on neighbouring properties and access arrangements required detailed assessment and the application was subject to significant local opposition. However, Ashford Borough Council planning committee voted to approve the application and the apartments are now under construction. The scheme offers a small but important contribution of smaller scale homes for which there is a requirement in the town.
