From November 2023, all new development in the UK will be required to create a minimum of 10% Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) either on or off site.

The introduction of this new legislation has uncovered an opportunity for landowners to either work with developers to create a BNG site, or form BNG units on their land before going to market. The Batcheller Monkhouse Environment Gateway is an extensive group of farms, estates and parcels of land that have registered to be promoted to anyone looking for BNG land.

Are you a landowner?

It is estimated that over 3,300 acres of land per annum will be required for habitat creation each year. Within the Environment Gateway we are able to either promote your land to active developers to create a BNG site, or you can form BNG units on your land ready to be presented to the wider market.

From unproductive grassland to woodland could your land potentially be used for Biodiversity Net Gain?

From unproductive grassland to woodland could your land potentially be used for Biodiversity Net Gain?

The creation of BNG units can take place on a variety of scales, from a quarter of an acre up to 1000 acres. Whether it’s a field corner, an acre of scrub, woodland, or unproductive arable and grassland, our experts can help outline your options.

  • Do you have underperforming land or areas of un-used scrub land?
  • Would you like to generate more income?
  • Would you like to diversify your sources of income?
  • Would you like to contribute to more sustainable development?
