Batcheller Monkhouse were delighted to return to Farm Expo 2026 at the Kent County Showground in Detling on Wednesday 4th March. The popular agricultural event once again brought together farmers, landowners, rural businesses and industry professionals from across the South East for a day of networking, discussion and innovation.

A Busy Day at the Kent County Showground

Although the day began with a foggy start, the atmosphere inside the Maidstone Exhibition Hall was buzzing, with a steady flow of visitors exploring the wide range of trade stands showcasing the latest agricultural machinery, supplies, technology and professional services.

Our Batcheller Monkhouse Rural Professional teams were on hand throughout the day, giving visitors to our stand the opportunity to meet experts from our Agriculture, Estate Management, Planning, Telecoms, Sales and Lettings teams, and to speak with them about a variety of current topics affecting the rural sector.

Supporting Farmers and Rural Businesses

It was a pleasure to speak with so many people about their businesses, land and future plans, offering guidance on everything from rural property and land management to lettings legislation and agricultural policy updates. Discussions ranged from the latest grant opportunities and agricultural support schemes, including the recent DEFRA announcement on the future of the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI), to the upcoming Renters’ Rights Act, as well as wider rural property and land management advice.

Coffee and Conversations

We were also delighted to welcome Sussex Coffee Trucks to our stand, who kept visitors and our team fuelled with freshly brewed, barista-made coffee throughout the day. The coffee proved incredibly popular and helped create a welcoming space for conversations and networking, alongside our Batcheller Monkhouse piggy banks and stress cows, which were a hit with visitors throughout the day.
