New Release – Round 2: Farming Equipment and Technology Fund Grant

The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) has published the full list of items for the second round of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) grant. The grant is intended to fund up to 44% of the cost of the items and it will be aimed at supporting farmers, foresters, growers and contractors in England.

Applicants can apply for a grant between £1,000 and £25,000 from the prescribed list published by Defra.

The FETF has been split into two themes:

  • Productivity and Slurry grants (application window now open until 4th April)

Grant funding covers Horticulture, Forestry, Slurry Management, Arable, Livestock and Resource Management. Under Arable, available funding includes items such as Direct Drill with Fertiliser Placement 3m (£25,000) and Assisted Steer System (retro fitted for older tractors) (£1,051).

Applicants can apply for either or both grants.

The grant funding is competitive, and each application will be scored with the highest scoring applications being allocated funding first. Each item within the grants has been assigned a score out of 100 to reflect the productivity, environmental and animal welfare benefit and the innovation of the item. The scores for each item selected will be added up to give the total score for all items in the application and then used to work out the average score for the application.

To apply, all applicants must be registered with the Rural Payments Service and have a Single Business Identifier.

We recommend that you take great care when choosing the items in your application and ensure that you can buy the items within the claim deadline. If your application is successful, you will not be able to amend your submitted application unless exceptional circumstances apply.
