Batcheller Monkhouse were thrilled to be back at Heathfield Agricultural Show on Saturday 27th May 2023.
Held at Tottingworth Farm in Broad Oak, our Agency and Rural Professionals spent the day assisting farmers and landowners with any questions they had. These included updates on Biodiversity Net Gain, rural opportunities, rental legislation and the property market. It was a beautiful sunny day which attracted a large number of visitors making it a brilliant day for everyone involved.
The morning started with the annual Batcheller Monkhouse Farmers Breakfast. We were delighted to welcome around 70 farmers who joined us for a ‘Sussex Breakfast’, agricultural discussions and an engaging Q & A session. Jeremy Kerswell, Principal at Plumpton College, kindly joined us and spoke about his forward desires for his students whilst reinforcing upon them the importance of sustainable strategies in food production. Huw Merriman, Conservative MP, also attended and shared his views on the importance of sustainable transport.
Throughout the day there were many attractions for the public to enjoy such as the monster trucks, horse jumping and livestock displays. There was a variety of trade stands showcasing machinery, new technology, and professional rural advice.
Located opposite Ring 2, the Batcheller Monkhouse stand had a representative from each of the firms’ Professional Departments. These include Planning Consultancy, Development Consultancy, Telecommunications, Estate Management and Agriculture. Our industry leading Sales and Lettings teams also enjoyed networking and meeting potential clients. Our stand was well attended by farmers, contractors, property hunters and landowners from across the South East. Many of whom were looking to find out more about the new Batcheller Monkhouse Environment Gateway, and updated information on the Renters Reform Bill. It was a terrific opportunity for everyone, whether working in agriculture or not, to get together and network.
Thank you to Precision Catering for providing a delicious breakfast and canapés throughout the day. These included pea and mint cups, ham hock terrine, trout eggs blinis and chicken tikka skewers.
We were overjoyed to win 1st place for the John Harper Best Non-Agricultural Trade Stand.
