Meet Oliver Robinson MRICS Partner – Development and Commercial
An early interest in the interaction between landscapes and environments and how they are shaped by human interaction led to me completing a Geography degree at Newcastle University. I then started work with a national surveying firm in Maidstone whilst working towards my Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Qualifications (MRICS) and a Masters in Surveying from Reading University.
I joined Batcheller Monkhouse in 2010 following a 2 year hiatus in Hong Kong.
My primary interest for becoming a Rural Surveyor was the variety of work and the diverse nature of the property that we deal with on a daily basis. Together with the ability to escape the office and enjoy the great outdoors. I have continued to enjoy all manner of jobs ranging from Estate Management, Rural Agency, Valuation to Compulsory Purchase work. In recent times my focus has been on advising landowners on the best course of action for bringing forward strategic land for development together with dealing with the sale of the land following the grant of planning.
Away from the office my passion is rugby and cricket and I have been lucky enough to represent a number of local teams which has allowed me to engage with the local community. I have now hung up my playing boots and get most of my daily exercise from chasing after my two young children.
