Ploughing Matches 2022

During September 2022 many of our Rural Professionals, Agency, Lettings, Telecoms and Planning teams attended a number of Ploughing Matches across Kent and Sussex.

Weald of Kent Ploughing Match

The first Ploughing Match Batcheller Monkhouse attended in 2022 was the Weald of Kent held in Hawkenbury, Kent. The day was full of activities for all to enjoy, from a trade machinery parade, gun dog demonstrations and terrier racing to prize-giving in the afternoon. We enjoyed seeing many clients for a chat over some locally sourced pork pie and beer.

Laughton Ploughing Match

At the Laughton Ploughing Match, held on the 21st of September, Batcheller Monkhouse sponsored the Education Section as well as having a stand. Local schools attended with groups of young children to learn more about farming and all that is involved throughout the farming year. There were many stands and activities for everyone to take part in including an entertaining tractor ride for the children. There was plenty to watch with both ploughing and hedge laying competitions throughout the day.

Petworth Ploughing Match

On Saturday the 24th of September 2022, our Rural Professionals attended the Petworth Ploughing Match in Billingshurst, West Sussex. The day included a selection of stalls and the opportunity to watch both the vintage and modern ploughing competitions.

Hurstpierpoint Ploughing Match

The final ploughing match that Batcheller Monkhouse attended in 2022 was Hurstpierpoint on the 25th of September in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. It was a brilliant day to round up this years Ploughing Matches with lovely weather and meeting many familiar and new faces.
