Home » Professional Property Valuations

A professional property valuation is only as useful as the expertise behind it. Whether you need a valuation for secure lending, taxation, dispute resolution, matrimonial matters, development appraisal, or sales and acquisition, the figure must be accurate, defensible, and come from someone who genuinely knows the local market.

Our RICS-qualified valuers cover the full range of property types across Kent, Sussex and Surrey, including residential property, agricultural property, farms and land, equestrian facilities, commercial property and telecommunications sites. We carry out each valuation in accordance with the RICS Red Book, so lenders, solicitors, accountants and courts get the independent, professionally verified opinion they need.

We also act as expert witnesses for valuation matters, providing independent evidence for disputes, tribunals and court proceedings. For more on this, see our Expert Witness page.

An accurate, defensible valuation is often the starting point for tax planning. Getting the figure right at the outset can make a real difference to the calculations that follow.

It’s an independent, evidence-based assessment of a property’s market value. A qualified surveyor carries it out in accordance with recognised professional standards. Unlike a market appraisal from an estate agent, this is a formal document that lenders, courts, solicitors and tax authorities can rely on.

It is a valuation that follows the RICS Valuation Global Standards, commonly known as the Red Book. This sets out the methodology, assumptions and professional obligations a valuer must follow, and it is the accepted standard for lending, taxation, litigation and other formal purposes.

Common reasons include securing a mortgage or loan, calculating inheritance tax or capital gains tax, resolving a dispute or matrimonial matter, appraising a site for development, or buying or selling a property where you need an independent opinion of value.

We value residential property, agricultural property, farms and land, equestrian facilities, commercial property and telecommunications sites across Kent, Sussex and Surrey.

A market appraisal is an estate agent’s informal opinion of value, typically for marketing a property for sale. A professional valuation is different: a qualified surveyor prepares a formal, RICS-compliant document that lenders, solicitors, accountants and courts can use.

It depends on the property type and the purpose. We usually complete residential valuations within a few days of inspection, though agricultural, commercial and more complex properties can take longer depending on the evidence required.

Yes. Our valuers provide independent expert witness evidence for disputes, tribunals and court proceedings. See our Expert Witness page for more information.
