Agricultural Finance
Funding a farm purchase, expansion or new building should not mean going through your everyday bank.
As agents for the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC), we help you access agricultural finance designed specifically for farming and rural businesses, rather than adapted from a standard commercial loan. Whether you are buying land, investing in buildings or diversifying your business, we can handle the application process on your behalf.
Our partner in securing agricultural funding
If you are a farmer, landowner or run an agricultural, horticultural, equine or other commercial land-based business, agricultural finance from the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC) is worth considering. In fact, it is often a better fit than a mainstream bank. As AMC agents, we prepare and present your application, drawing on more than 90 years of specialist agricultural lending and our own knowledge of your business.
Loans start from £25,001. Rates can be interest-only, repayment or blended, fixed or variable, and variable rate loans carry no annual reviews or early repayment charges. We can also agree funding in principle before a sealed bid or auction, which matters when land or buildings come up for competitive sale.
Agricultural finance through AMC can support:
- Land or farm purchases
- Equipment or machinery
- Building improvements
- Diversification projects
- Refinancing debt
- Working capital

Planning to pass the farm on?
An AMC loan or mortgage can transfer to the next generation, so you do not need to settle or refinance it when ownership changes hands. If succession is already on your mind, it is worth planning the finance, the transfer and the tax position together, rather than treating them as separate conversations.
Common questions about agricultural finance
The AMC is a specialist agricultural lender with over 90 years’ experience, and part of Lloyds Banking Group. Unlike a mainstream bank agricultural lending is its only focus.
Sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and trusts can apply, provided the business is agricultural, horticultural, equine or another commercial land-based activity.
AMC’s Standard Loan starts from £25,001. There’s no fixed upper limit, because AMC assesses each loan against your business and what the funding is for.
Yes, we can agree funding in principle before you make a sealed bid or attend an auction, which gives you a clear position before you commit.
Variable rate AMC loans have no early repayment charges and no annual reviews. Fixed rate options are also available if a set rate for the life of the agreement suits your plans better.
