Batcheller Monkhouse had a fantastic day at the Weald of Kent Ploughing Match on Saturday 13th September. Despite the rain, the event was filled with ploughing competitions, vintage tractor displays, and lively conversations with farmers, landowners, and families. We loved meeting so many of you, sharing expert advice, and celebrating the very best of country life.
A Fantastic Start to the Season
The first Ploughing Match of the season for Batcheller Monkhouse and where better to start than the Weald of Kent Ploughing Match? The Weald of Kent was held on Saturday 13th September at Moatenden Farm in Headcorn, by kind permission of the Dungey family and Hawkes family.
Celebrating Rural Life Together
Despite the rain and muddy conditions, the day was full of activities to enjoy, from impressive ploughing competitions and vintage tractor displays to falconry demonstrations and sheaf tossing. The muddy fields only added to the fun, and it was wonderful to see so many people braving the weather to celebrate the best of country life.
Our team thoroughly enjoyed chatting with many farmers, landowners, families, and agricultural experts throughout the day, with top discussion points including the local property market and advising on Inheritance Tax and BNG opportunities. Visitors were treated to locally sourced pork pies, and we were thrilled to have freshly brewed drinks from Sussex Coffee Trucks who joined us for the event.
